Road trips vital for Millers – Fenton

CAPTAIN Nick Fenton insists Rotherham United’s away form could make all the difference in the promotion race as they tonight look to end a three-game losing run on the road.

The Millers make the long trip to Gillingham on the back of defeats at Wycombe Wanderers, Stevenage and Port Vale – a trio of reverses that saw Ronnie Moore’s men briefly slide out of the top three.

Rotherham did reclaim third place courtesy of Saturday’s victory over Crewe Alexandra but Fenton admits they cannot afford too many more slip-ups away from the Don Valley Stadium.

He said: “We need to get away points, that is what can hopefully get us promotion. We have Gillingham and Oxford (Rotherham’s next two away games) coming up along with Shrewsbury (at home).

“They are all teams that are in and around us so this could be a big month for us.”
