Rotherham United 0 Burton Albion 1: Millers chief Scott left fuming as recovery hopes go for a Burton

ROTHERHAM have slumped to 11th after four successive defeats.

Manager Andy Scott warned that heads could roll after this leatest defeat at the Don Valley Stadium

“I’m sick of saying the same thing, we just cant defend, it’s driving me absolutely mad that people are not prepared to do their jobs and put their bodies on the line.

“We just don’t seem to be doing what we’re supposed to do.”

Burton took an early lead when Justin Richards sped down the right, played a pass to Cleveland Taylor and continued his run before turning in Taylor’s drive. It was the third successive home game in which Rotherham have gone behind inside the first 10 minutes.

The Millers’ best first half opportunity came when Ben Pringle headed down Danny Schofield’s cross only for Lewis Grabban to shoot over.

Grabban almost made amends early in the second half but he hit the bar with a 25-yarder and, despite incessant pressure, the Millers failed to break through.

Burton held on and leapfrogged the Millers, who have not won in six games now, moving into eighth place.

The Millers had initially employed the same formation they used in the JP Trophy defeat to Sheffield United in midweek with Schofield tucked in behind Alex Revell with Grabban wider on the right and Pringle on the left.

Blades boss Danny Wilson was at the game and must have been wondering if he was watching the same team which had tested his side on Tuesday.

Scott decided to change things, moving Grabban alongside Revell with Schofield out to the right.

Gareth Evans’s introduction put the Millers on top but to no avail.
