Rotherham United 2 Aldershot 0: Grabban helps Millers end winless streak

Andy Scott saw his Rotherham United side win their first game in 10 when they beat Aldershot in League Two at Don Valley Stadium.

On loan defender Guy Branston returned for the Millers after suspension but defender Michael Raynes is ruled out by a calf injury. Goalkeeper Conrad Logan kept his place with Andy Warrington named as substitute. Ryan Cresswell has suffered a setback and may need ankle surgery.

The Millers took the lead when Shots keeper Ross Worner spilled Gareth Evans’ 30-yard free-kick to Lewis Grabban, who tapped home.

Chris Holroyd glanced home another Evans free-kick to double the lead before the break.

After 54 minutes Worner was sent off for clattering Alex Revell and, with no custodian on the bench, midfielder Jamie Collins took the gloves.

The 27-year-old summer signing even made a great save to deny Holroyd a second but it made little difference in the end.
