ROTHERHAM UNITED striker Kieran Agard has joined League One outfit Bristol City for an undisclosed fee.
The 24-year-old, subject of a failed bid from the Robins last month, had been at the top of Ashton Gate chief Steve Cotterill’s transfer list all summer, with the west country outfit having now got their man after maintaining their interest despite the first knock-back.
Agard had also been the subject of a recent bid from Leeds United, but saw a potential move to Elland Road collapse last Friday after the Millers accepted an offer of over £800,000 from their Championship rivals.
Leeds could not agree personal terms with the forward and were unwilling to raise their offer to meet his wage requirements.
Earlier this summer, Agard, who fired 26 goals for the Millers last season, rejected the offer of a contract extension at Rotherham and despite the club’s efforts to agree terms with the player, they have now ‘reluctantly’ allowed him to move on having agreed a fee with Bristol City.
