Rotherham United v Accrington Stanley: Permanent Millers switch interests Daley

JAMAICAN international Omar Daley is hoping to secure a permanent move to Rotherham United.

Winger Daley is set to make his home debut for the Millers tonight against Accrington Stanley after arriving on loan from Bradford City last week in a swap with Kevin Ellison.

The deals expire at the end of the season but both clubs have the option to cancel at the end of the first month.

Daley, who came on as a substitute in last weekend’s away defeat at Oxford United, said: “I am really pleased to move here on loan and if I can get a promotion on my CV I would definitely love that. I am here until the end of the season if, after a month, the gaffer still wants to keep me.”

Asked whether he wanted to stay long-term, Daley said: “If the deal is right, why not? It’s a pleasure playing with these players and, although we lost on Saturday, the vibe in the dressing room was still strong. Bradford is a big club and Rotherham is a big club. Both are in League Two but Rotherham are higher up in the table.”

Millers captain Ryan Cresswell, meanwhile, has suffered a fresh injury setback and will be out for another two weeks.

The defender had only just returned to training after breaking a collarbone two months ago but has now damaged ankle ligaments. Striker Ryan Taylor is also out for two weeks after suffering a groin injury against Oxford.
