Simon Ainge broke the deadlock for Guiseley, heading home Warren Peyton's corner in the 68th minute but the advantage was short lived, Danny Sleath equalising just two minutes later.

Guiseley manager Steve Kittrick said: "We looked solid in all areas and played the ball around well but we need to be more clinical in front of goal. People are now taking us seriously and know we are not going to fall away."

Second-placed Alfreton Town had their match at Worcester City frozen off and leaders Nuneaton could only draw at Vauxhall Motors.

Evo-Stik: Bradford Park Avenue nudged closer to a place in the top 10 with a hard-earned 1-0 win at Nantwich Town.

Substitute Tom Greaves' goal five minutes after the break proved sufficient for Avenue who are 11th, five places above their hosts. Avenue defender Steve Burton was sent off in the 76th minute for a second yellow card and Town's Cameron Mitchell also saw a second yellow late on.

Fifth-from-bottom Whitby Town put up a strong fight at home to Chasetown before going down to substitute Ramon Stephens' 76th-minute goal in the only other Premier Division game involving a Yorkshire side to go ahead.

Whitby's performance was sufficient for manager Tommy Cassidy to predict hey would win their battle against relegation.

The frost also bit deep into the First Division North programme but second-from-bottom Ossett Albion went to leaders Chester and conceded six goals for the second time in four days. Their 6-0 drubbing came after a 6-2 reverse at home to Bamber Bridge. Albion have now let in 61 goals in 22 games. Chester's Michael Wilde collected a hat-trick in the opening 47 minutes, including a penalty. Chris Simm scored just before half-time and Iain Howard netted twice after the interval. Chester's lead is now eight points after Chorley's game against Wakefield was called off.

Harrogate Railway suffered their 11th defeat of the season at Mossley for whom Matty Kay opened the scoring just before half-time. Kristian Dennis added the second in the 62nd minute and Kay snatched his second with three minutes left.

In Division One South, Sheffield were 3-1 winners at Quorn. Callum Harrison got Sheffield off to a flying start by scoring after six minutes. Kris Matthews then put through his own goal in the 15th minute to double Sheffield's advantage. Matthews atoned with a goal for Quorn ten minutes later but Jamie Hadfield made it 3-1 after only 33 minutes and there was no more scoring.

Northern Counties East: Ashley Worsfold struck twice as Parkgate beat Farsley 3-2 in the top-of-the-table clash that puts the home side a point clear of their rivals with three games in hand.

Parkgate, who finished 14th last season, have been almost completely rebuilt since new manager Doug Shelley took over in the summer and have lost only one of their last 12 starts.

Worsfold put them in front after 19 minutes and even though Roy Stamer equalised two minutes later, Nathan Swindells quickly edged Parkgate back in front.

Worsfold's 16th of the season, put the home side further ahead early in the second half and even though Stamer struck again to set up a tense final 15 minutes, Farsley couldn't find the equaliser.

Maltby Main kept alive their hopes of catching the leaders with a 5-0 thrashing of Brighouse Town with goals from Rob Branagan, Adam Shepherd, Christopher Wood and Darren Jones (2).

That took them into fourth above Bridlington who went 2-0 up through Ash Allanson and Alex Rhodes only for Armthorpe to hit back in the second half and salvage a point thanks to Leo Fortune-West and Joe Wilcox.

A goal from Bruno Holden and last-minute strike from Adam Lee saw Selby to a 2-1 win over Lincoln Moorlands and moved them up to sixth.

FA Vase: A linesman's flag denied Tadcaster Albion a replay as they went down 2-1 at Billingham Synthonia.

The home side were well worth their 2-0 lead before Albion's hopes were raised when Steve Jeff pulled one back.

And as the game went into the final minute Andrew Dawson forced the ball over the line. The referee seemed to award the goal but his assistant's flag was raised and after consultation the score was wiped out for a foul by Dawson.

Two late goals by Rye United ended Staveley's hopes of coming back from the Sussex side's 30th minute opener.
