Leeds United representatives have been in Belgium this week attempting to tie down a move for the 20-year-old left-back Alexis Scholl.

Scholl could be a contingency if Charlie Taylor, who handed in a transfer request that was subsequently rejected, does eventually leave.

It is understood that the Whites’ links to former England defender Joleon Lescott are off the mark.

Hull City have missed out on defender Salif Sane of FC Koln.

The £8m rated Cameroon international appears to be heading to Koln’s Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg.

Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka is reported to gone back to his old club Real Madrid to secure the signature of Enzo Fernandez, the son of Real manager Zinedine Zidane, on loan.
