Screen derby tests for Leeds United, Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday

FIVE of Leeds United's opening 10 Championship games will be shown live by Sky TV after the all-Yorkshire encounters with Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday were today selected by the broadcaster.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men will welcome Boro to Elland Road on Friday, August 31 in a fixture that has been brought forward a day.

The trip to Sheffield Wednesday will also be played on a Friday night after Sky opted to broadcast the derby live on Friday, September 28.

It will be the first evening kick-off between the two clubs since Owls goalkeeper Chris Kirkland was assaulted on the pitch by a Leeds supporter in the 2012 meeting at Hillsborough.

Other games moved for live coverage by Sky are: Rotherham United v Stoke City (September 29, 5.30pm), Ipswich Town v Middlesbrough (Tuesday, October 2) and Sheffield Wednesday v West Bromwich Albion (Wednesday, October 3).
