Scunthorpe United v Barnsley: Robins tells Tykes to be on mettle against Iron

MARK ROBINS is calling on his Barnsley side to make it a case of third time lucky against Scunthorpe United this season.

In the two previous meetings between the two clubs, the Iron have held the upper hand with a 1-1 draw at Oakwell in the Championship being followed by Scunthorpe knocking the Tykes out of the FA Cup to earn a plum fourth-round tie at home to Manchester City.

Robins said: "We have had two matches against Scunthorpe this season and we have not done ourselves justice in either. We want to go there and put on a show but the three points are all important. We are going there on the back of a very poor home defeat and we want to right some wrongs."

Saturday's defeat at home to struggling Plymouth Argyle was a major setback for Barnsley after having moved to the fringes of the play-offs a week earlier courtesy of their home win over Watford.

The Tykes will be without Iain Hume tonight after the striker tweaked his hamstring, meaning he is likely to be out for a fortnight.

Rob Kozluk is also missing, while Emil Hallfredsson faces a late fitness test.

Last six games: Scunthorpe United LWWLLL, Barnsley WLWWLL.

Referee: C Webster (Tyne & Wear).
