Shackell leaves Barnsley as Peltier heads for Huddersfield exit door

The 27-year-old made it clear to the club he wanted to leave the Tykes this summer and he has now signed a three-year deal at Pride Park.

Town have accepted a bid of around £1m for Peltier from Leicester.

The 24-year-old’s future at the Galpharm Stadium had been uncertain since Lee Clark brought in right-back Calum Woods from Dunfermline Athletic at the start of the summer.

The Foxes had an earlier offer of around £500,000 turned down for Peltier but returned with a seven-figure sum that Town last night accepted.

Chairman Dean Hoyle said: “Of course we are disappointed to lose Lee but Leicester matched our valuation. As one player departs, it creates opportunities for others to shine.”

Wolves have completed the £5m permanent signing of Jamie O’Hara from Tottenham.
