Blades have only three challengers

LECSINEL Jean-Francois says the battle for automatic promotion to the Championship involves only four clubs – Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, Huddersfield Town and Charlton Athletic.

The Haiti international defender returned to Blades side last weekend and keeps his place for today’s game at Bournemouth.

Manager Danny Wilson has confirmed that Reading left-back Marcus Williams is set to return to the club on New Year’s Day – putting pressure on Jean-Francois to perform.

“I think if we do well over Christmas, we will definitely go up this season. It will give us the confidence to kick on,” he said. “It’s very difficult for clubs like Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, Huddersfield Town and Charltion because we are the teams everyone else in this league wants to beat. But I believe it is going to be between those four clubs for the two automatic promotion places.”

Jean-Francois’s assessment is unlikely to impress third-placed Milton Keynes Dons.
