Beaten League One play-off finalists Sheffield United have released 11 players, including top goalscorer Ched Evans and former England international James Beattie.

Three players have been offered new deals for next season’s League One campaign. They are striker Chris Porter and midfielders Lee Williamson and Kevin McDonald.

The out-of-contract players released by manager Danny Wilson are: Evans, Beattie, Steve Simonsen, Johnny Ertl and Andy Taylor from the first team and Jack Adams, Connor Brown, Seamus Conneely, Corey Gregory, Shane Murray and Marc Warren from the reserves.

Michael O’Halloran and Matt Hill - who played in last Saturday’s play-off final - have both gone back to their parent clubs.
