Fan’s Review of 2019-20 Season - Sheffield United
Jim Blackburn, 59, from Sheffield, has his say below. Scroll through and see if you agree, leaving your own thoughts in the comments section at the bottom.
How would you assess your season so far? Beyond our wildest dreams, we would all have happily taken 17th at the start of the season. The truth is only Liverpool at their place and arguably Manchester City have made us look like a plucky Championship side. The management team have tweaked the system to make us more solid at the back and a touch less gung-ho. To concede just 25 goals from 28 games in this company is some achievement and every player has stepped up and improved. It’s the best United team I have ever seen and the fans deserve it after years of mediocrity.

Most improved player? John Fleck, we knew he was good but not this good.
Best goal? Billy Sharp at Bournemouth on the opening day, a bit scruffy but it meant a lot.
Which game have you enjoyed most? Manchester United at home. We outplayed them, then a crazy 10 minutes, and we nicked a draw at the end.

What mark would you give the manager out of ten? Full marks, Chris Wilder is finally starting to get the credit he deserves. He’s never been sacked and that says a lot in football management.
How important is it that we finish the season? In the great scheme of things, not that important. It’s more important that people are safe.
If the season gets started again, what is your hope for your team? To carry on as we are doing and hopefully improve. The second season may be harder but the club is in safe hands.
What needs to change for next season? Just improve the squad quality if we can afford it and get Sander Berge integrated into the team. He could be a big player for us.
