Speed won the league title with Leeds United in 1992 and also set record after record in a distinguished playing career.
He quit playing during his time at Sheffield United and cut his managerial teeth at Bramall Lane before leaving last December to take up the post as manager of Wales, who he had served with distinction during his playing days.
