Losing Ched leaves us fearing the worst ahead of another play-off final

I have been to all the previous play-off finals and losing in the last minute to Palace was horrible. But the defeat to Wolves was even worse because we went down there feeling we could win. The team was playing so well that season but we just didn’t turn up.

Actually, we have a great tradition of not turning up.

We have not scored in a play-off final or, for that matter, an FA Cup semi-final since 1993 when Corky scored against Wednesday. So we have not troubled the scorers in our last five big games.

I don’t think it will be a game for the stylists. It will be decided by one goal and no prizes for guessing who we think might score?

You simply can’t argue with Jordan Rhodes’s record for Huddersfield. I have seen his goals on TV and he stuck four past Wednesday. We are frightened of him but not the rest of their team. All credit to the Blades players for getting through the semi-final. With three games to go, we were four points clear.

It’s not Danny Wilson’s fault that Ched Evans went to the clink. Without that, we would have gone up automatically.

I am not saying Town are a ‘one man team’ but they would have missed Jordan Rhodes just as much as we missed Ched.

There are nine of us travelling down and we plan to have a few beers before the game and then get the tube to Wembley.

We have paid nearly £50 for the tickets, which is expensive to watch two League One clubs – but I am paying it on the off chance that I might just see my team win at Wembley!
