Maguire commits future to Sheffield United

HIGHLY-RATED teenage centre half Harry Maguire has committed his long-term future to Sheffield United by signing a contract extension until the 2015.

Sheffield-born Maguire, 18, has been a revelation this season establishing himself in the Blades backline and playing every minute of every game so far.

United manager Danny Wilson said: “Looking ahead towards the long-term, Harry still has plenty to learn and needs more experience but he has started his career very brightly.

“To be playing regularly at such a young age is testimony to him.

“He has looked at the prospects for himself and he wanted to stay at Bramall Lane for the foreseeable future so we’re delighted.”

Maguire, who graduated through the club’s Academy, said: “I was always going to sign and thankfully everything has been finalised now.

“I am desperate to keeping playing well and hopefully I can play every minute of this season and help the team win promotion.”
