Match Centre: Sheffield United 3-1 Salisbury City

Sheffield United eased into the FA Cup 4th round with a 3-1 victory over non-league Salisbury.

Goals from Chris Porter, Ched Evans and an own-goal from Salisbury’s Danny Webb sealed victory for The Blades before a strike from Lloyd Macklin gave the visitors something to cheer.

The Blades had taken a 1-0 lead into half-time after Chris Porter found himself in space in the Salisbury penalty area in the 18th minute and he made no mistake.

Striker Ched Evans doubled the advantage shortly after the break to make it 2-0 before Webb’s cruel own-goal.

Earlier Johnny Ertl had gone close with a fine header as the Blades dominated play but could not find a way past inspired goalkeeper Mark Scott who has made three very good saves.

Striker James Beattie is on the bench as he still waits to make his first Blades start since returning to Bramall Lane.

Defender Matthew Lowton misses out again with a hamstring injury. Ertl starts in defence after 10 months out with a knee injury but defender Chris Morgan (knee) remains sidelined.
