McMahon returns to Sheffield as Wilson signs trio for Blades
The arrival of the trio bolsters the Blades’ depleted squad and United supporters could see the newcomers in tonight’s pre-season friendly at neighbours Rotherham United.
Right-back McMahon and Hill, who can operate at left-back or centre-back, have agreed two-year deals, as has young striker Miller, with the latter having the option of a third year.

Hide AdMcMahon, 26, is no stranger to the Steel City, having enjoyed a 15-game spell on loan at Sheffield Wednesday in 2008. The Bishop Auckland born defender was a free agent after his contract expired at Middlesbrough at the end of June, having made 137 appearances for the Teessiders.
On the decision to drop down to League One, McMahon said: “My agent called me a couple of weeks ago to tell me that Sheffield United had made an offer and after considering my options, I decided this was where I wanted to play my football.”
Ex-Barnsley and Blackpool player Hill, 31, spent a succesful loan spell at the club at the end of last season and made 15 appearances – featuring in the League One final penalty shoot-out loss to Huddersfield Town at Wembley.
Blades chief Wilson had been interested in Crewe Alexandra forward Miller since becoming boss in May 2011 with the 24-year-old arriving for a nominal fee, believed to be around £70,000, based on appearances.

Hide AdThe Crewe academy graduate, who scored 43 goals in 179 games for the Railwaymen, said: “At Crewe, the aims and level of ambition is a lot different, but here I know the expectation is to get back to where everyone believes this club should be, which is the Championship at the very least.”
Meanwhile, Doncaster Rovers centre-half George Friend has completed his move to Middlesbrough on a three-year deal.
Friend, 24, has signed for an undisclosed fee.
