Ramsdale: Made a strong early save to deny Chilwell at his near post, but was beaten before the break as the full-back put the Blues ahead and won't have been happy. Made an important turn-away before the break to thwart that man Chilwell again. No chance with Chelsea's second half goals. 6

Basham. Had to keep alert against Werner, who was playing down the left channel. Disciplined performance and made a magnificent saving challenge in the second half to deny Kovacic.. 6

Egan. Plenty of responsibility on his shoulders with the captain's arm. Had his hands full with Abraham and did well to get in the way of a goalbound curler from the impressive Ziyech. 6

Stevens. Switched slightly in the build-up to Chelsea's leveller and a mistake almost led to a third for the hosts on the restart. 6

Baldock. A lively raider on the right flank and played a part in the Blades' opener. Posed Chelsea a few problems in first half, but more restricted on the resumption as the Blues pressed. 6

Berge. Given little time by Chelsea's midfield who gave him little freedom. Did break the shackles to help United go front. 6

Norwood: Produced some trademark raking passes at times and instigated the fine short corner routine which led to United's opener. His influence faded on the resumption as Chelsea pressed and sought to kill the game. 6

Lundstram. Had to be disciplined with Chelsea producing a number of attacks down the Blades' right. Couldn't influence the game going forward. 6

Lowe. Lost Chilwell for Chelsea's second goal and learning on the job. A work in progress at this level and found it tough going against Ziyech and his errant back-pass set up Werner's late fourth. 4.

McGoldrick. A clever link player and justified his inclusion with a superb back-heel to put the Blades in front. Likes playing against Chelsea, but less of a force on restart. 6
