Sheffield United 1 Notts County 1: Another home draw for Blades

FORMER Pompey striker Dave Kitson headed home his first goal for the Blades in the 50th minute from Flynn’s cross seconds after Blackman had rattled the post before being denied by the goalkeeper.

Gallagher then failed to convert at the far post before Mark Howard produced a close-range reflex save from Zoko’s header at the other end.

Kitson departed to a standing ovation in the 73rd minute and was replaced by Chris Porter - County having alreadymade two substitutions.

It was one of those replacements, Lee Hughes, who turned in Jeff Hughes’s shot in the 77th minute for County’s equaliser after Kevin McDonald had headed a corner against his own bar.

Harry Maguire thought he had won it for the Blades but was ruled offside as he headed home Gallagher’s 84th-minute free-kick.

Captain Michael Doyle and winger Ryan Flynn returned from three-match bans for unbeaten United against League One’s second-placed team at Bramall Lane.

David McAllister and Richard Cresswell dropped to the bench as Danny Wilson again employed a strike pairing of Nick Blackman and Dave Kitson.
