Nigel Adkins has responded positively to Sheffield United chairman Kevin McCabe offering him his public backing last weekend.
McCabe spoke to The Yorkshire Post, clarifying that he saw Adkins as the right person to take the Blades out of League One.
While United have struggled to put form together this season and sit eighth in the third tier, a distance off the pre-season prediction of automatic promotion, there seems to be no desire for another change of manager.
The former Southampton chief is already thinking ahead to next season and said of McCabe’s view: “It’s good news. I had dinner with him last night.
“There is a positivity about the place, we all want to strive on to do well for Sheffield United. Everyone is working very hard behind the scenes to help.
“Everyone has got a desire to do well for this football club. We’re planning pre-season.”
