The Dane revealed Swansea have received a number of enquiries from Championship clubs for striker Lita, who has been linked with Wednesday, where he had a successful loan spell last term.

The 28-year-old netted six goals in 13 starts for the Owls last term, helping them avoid relegation from the Championship.

Owls manager Dave Jones is desperate to recruit a striker, and has already missed out on Billy Sharp – who has joined Reading on loan – as he has spent all of his playing budget.

Laudrup said: “Leroy had some offers which is normal because in the Championship he has shown he has quality. He can score goals there because he has done it before and could do it again.

“I think he is right now waiting for the right thing because he has had offers from different Championship clubs already.

“I don’t know whether it will happen because it depends on what he wants but I am hoping so because the player needs to play.

“He has been quite some months without competitive games so I hope for him he can get a move soon because he needs to get on with his career,” he added.

Former Owls defender Mark Beevers has been ruled out for six to eight weeks with a knee injury at Millwall.

The centre-half suffered sprained medial ligaments during Saturday’s 1-0 win at Charlton.

Lions boss Steve Lomas said: “It’s obviously a blow for us and for Mark at a time when we appear to be turning a corner.

“Fortunately surgery doesn’t appear to be necessary but we are resigned to being without him for the next few weeks.”

Former Birmingham City centre-forward Jake Jervis is training with Sheffield United and could be offered a deal.

Former Blades manager Micky Adams has undergone a hip replacement operation.

Adams, now in charge at Port Vale, went under the knife on Monday morning and is recovering well in hospital, the club have confirmed.
