Sheffield Wednesday handed fillip as key man Bannan signs fresh Hillsborough deal
Sheffield Wednesday have been handed a major boost with the news that talismanic midfielder Barry Bannan has signed a two-year contract extension.
The Scot has been in outstanding form in the first month of the season and the development follows striker Lucas Joao’s decision to sign fresh terms last week.
Bannan, whose deal was due to run out next summer, has signed on the dotted line at Hillsbrough until 2021.
The schemer, who joined Wednesday in August 2015, has made 124 appearances for the club.
