The Owls left-back missed the 2-1 defeat at Birmingham City last weekend with a thigh injury, but is back in training.

Winger Adam Reach stepped in as cover in the defeat at Birmingham.

“We don’t know yet about Daniel, if he will recover in time,” said Owls head coach Carlos Carvalhal. “He’s progressing well, and everyone else is okay.

“He is training, so let’s see tomorrow (Friday). Day by day he is getting better and better.

“Reach played well at left-back in the last game, especially in the first half. He’s a player with a lot of pace, who can attack, but he is a good defender and has played before in that position.”

One decision Carvalhal faces is whether to recall Sam Hutchinson, after serving a one-match ban.

The midfielder has been deployed at centre-back by Wednesday this season, but with captain Glenn Loovens returning to fitness, Hutchinson could switch back to midfield.
