Bogle, 28, has signed an 18-month deal with Rovers, with his arrival following on from the captures of John Bostock and Josh Sims.

Earlier on in January, Doncaster added loanees Ellery Balcombe and Elliot Simoes to their squad in a month which has also seen Ben Whiteman leave the club in a big-money departure to Preston.

West Midlands born Bogle only moved to Charlton in October, signing a one-year deal with the option of a second year.

But the striker, who made his name with Grimsby Town, had an undistinguished time at The Valley, scoring just twice in 17 appearances with the arrival of Ronnie Schwarz and Jayden Stockley further pushing him down the pecking order..

Bogle is now aiming to resurrect his career at Rovers.

The frontman ended last season on loan in the Dutch Eredivisie with ADO Den Haag after being frozen out at Cardiff City.

He joined the Bluebirds from Wigan for £1m in August 2017, but only made 21 league appearances in three seasons, scoring four goals.

Bogle started his career with spells as a youngster at West Brom, Birmingham City and Celtic before dropping into non-league at Hinckley United.

Solihull Moors took a chance on his in 2012 and his 66 goals in 116 games earned him a switch to Grimsby a few years later, where he carried on his goal-scoring exploits to help the Mariners gain promotion to the Football League - securing him a high-profile move to Wigan.
