Injured trio set for Sheffield Wednesday return

Sheffield Wednesday trio Atdhe Nuhiu, Lucas Joao and Daniel Pudil are all set for a weekend return to action.

The three players all missed last week's 1-0 win at Hull City, but returned to training this week and are in contention for Saturday's visit of Reading in the Championship.

"I think for Saturday (Nuhiu) is an option, the same for Lucas and Daniel Pudil," Owls boss Jos Luhukay said.

"These three players weren't available last Saturday after getting injuries from the game before (against QPR) and they trained yesterday without any problems.

"If training is positive today and tomorrow I will for Saturday have these three players. That's why I have to look today and tomorrow at these last two training sessions to see if they can play."

Striker Jordan Rhodes, who scored the winner at Hull, returned to training on Wednesday after a few days nursing a knock.

Luhukay said: "Jordan had a problem at the end of the game (at Hull), but trained on Wednesday, so he’s an option for Saturday."
