The Owls revealed a new structure yesterday as part of a master plan from chairman Dejphon Chansiri, with former Hull City chairman and Leeds United director Adam Pearson and ex-West Ham and Newcastle boss Glenn Roeder to serve as advisors to the club.

They will work alongside head coach Stuart Gray, with Roeder to scout targets overseas and Pearson to oversee the Owls transfer business.

Aldridge joined the club in January 2011 as the successor to Nick Parker, having been appointed by Milan Mandaric.

Ex West Ham, Leicester and Manchester City executive Aldridge replaced Parker on the board and became vice-chairman and CEO.

Aldridge had been a consultant for Mandaric during his takeover of the club, before being handed a formal role.

On his exit at the end of next season, Aldridge said: “I have had a tremendous time at the club and look forward to playing my part next season in what I hope will be a very successful campaign.

“Mr Chansiri and I discussed the best long term future for the club and we have decided that now is right time to make and announce this decision.

“I am sure by giving the chairman sufficient time to consider who is the right person to lead the club into its 150th anniversary, he will appoint the most suitable successor.”

Chansiri added: “I am grateful for all the help Paul gave to me prior to and during the takeover process and, of course, he has a very important role to play.

“This decision will allow me the time to begin the process of identifying his successor.

“I am very confident that whilst we will miss Paul, this will give me the opportunity to further strengthen the executive management team for the future.”
