Former Sheffield Wednesday striker links up with McCall’s Motherwell

Motherwell have confirmed the signing of Francis Jeffers until the end of the season

The 30-year-old former England international has moved to Fir Park after leaving Australian A-League side Newcastle Jets.

Jeffers, who scored on his solitary England appearance against Australia in 2003, returns to the Clydesdale Bank Premier League following a loan spell with Rangers in 2005 during which he failed to score in eight appearances.

Jeffers began his career with Everton, before moves to Arsenal, Charlton, Blackburn and Sheffield Wednesday.
