Owls goalkeeper Keiren Westwood pulled out of the Republic of Ireland squad due to a niggling ankle injury, but is fit to start against Town.

Wednesday will be without the injured Barry Bannan (knee) and Sam Hutchinson (suspended) on Saturday, but Owls head coach Carlos Carvalhal has full faith in their midfield replacements.

“We will have changes because Sam and Barry are not in the squad,” said Carvalhal. “But other players will come into the midfield.

“We have done that in the past, we have won without Barry and won without Sam, because we have other players in midfield with the quality to play.

“Bannan will miss the game, but he will be back soon. He’s improving.

“(Michael) Turner is on the pitch now, started running.

“Soon Turner, Marco (Matias), and Barry Bannan will be back soon.”
