Sheffield Wednesday 0 Brentford 0: Owls held at Hillsborough

Gary Megson saw his Sheffield Wednesday side held 0-0 at Hillsborough against Brentford in League One.

Striker Gary Madine is banned for the Owls so Ryan Lowe will again partner Chris O’Grady in attack.

Mark Reynolds kept his place at leftback in the absence of Reda Johnson (groin) while Giles Coke is back in the squad after returning from Bury. Nicky Weaver, Daniel Jones, and Jon Otsemobor are still long term injury absentees.

Despite numerous chances for both teams, neither could break the deadlock to finish scoreless at Hillsborough.

Brentford’s Miguel Llera cam closest to breaking the deadlock, but his header whacked the crossbar.

Visiting keeper Richard Lee kept out James O’Connor’s acrobatic effort.

Wednesday defender Rob Jones went close for the home side but his header was somehow scrambled wide from inside the Brentford six-yard box.
