Wednesday close on Hull striker Fryatt

The Tigers striker has been on the fringes of the City first-team and will use the Hillsborough loan to help kickstart his career after a serious Achilles injury last year.

A prolific goalscorer in his time at Walsall and Leicester City, Fryatt’s arrival finally ends manager Dave Jones’s search for a much-needed striker.

The 27-year-old has scored 25 goals in 72 appearances for Hull, and also has England Under-19 honours.

The news will be a relief to Jones, who has missed out on Billy Sharp and Federico Macheda in recent weeks.
