It’s FA Cup second round day at Hillsborough today and Sheffield Wednesday beat Aldershot with a solitary Ryan Lowe effort.

Goalkeeper Stephen Bywater (Derby), midfielder Ben Marshall (Stoke City) and striker Sanchez Watt (Arsenal) are not allowed to play by their parent clubs, Miguel Llera (Blackpool) is cup-tied having played in the first round of the competition for Brentford, while Danny Batth (Wolverhampton) is suspended. Captain Rob Jones returned from suspension, and there were starts for goalkeeper Richard O’Donnell, Liam Palmer, Chris Sedgwick and Julian Bennett.

Ryan Lowe broke the deadlock after 49 minutes to earn a third-round spot.
