The Terriers enjoyed a hugely impressive February, collecting 16 points from six games and earning an FA Cup fifth round replay against Manchester City, to ensure their German head coach received further recognition for the tremendous job he is doing at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Ahead of taking his side to Brentford tomorrow, Wagner said: “As was the case in August, I only accept the February manager of the month award on behalf of every player, member of staff and everyone else connected with this special club, Huddersfield Town.

Sheffield United’s captain netted five times in as many games to earn glowing praise from manager Chris Wilder.

“Billy epitomises the spirit we have at the club and although it is a personal award I’m sure he will be the first to say it is a team effort,” said the Blades chief. “His goals have been invaluable for us, not just in February, but throughout the season.”
