Steve Watson's frustration at York City postponements

YORK CITY manager Steve Watson says that the club's break from action until November 25 is 'beyond frustrating' with backroom staff and first-team players to self-isolate until that date after a player tested positive for Covid-19.

The Minstermen, who were due to visit Kidderminster Harriers in the National League North tomorrow, must now reschedule four matches.

Alongside the trip to Harriers, the home games against Gateshead and AFC Fylde, and trip to Hereford - will be rescheduled.

League games against Hereford and Kettering Town have already had to be put back following a positive Covid-19 test at City in October.

Watson said: “We will have to take the hits and keep trying get up and move forward. We'll get through this together.

"I'm sure our fans are every bit as frustrated as we are.

"The season has already had an incredible amount of setbacks and although we've had just two separate positive cases, a month of preparations and matches have been impacted.

"This is beyond frustrating, however the health of our players and their families is our priority.

"This pandemic has devastated industries all over the word and will continue to affect football for the foreseeable future."
