This is the message from Reds chief Danny Wilson after his side staged a gutsy rally not for the first time this season, but finally in a winning cause in a 3-1 triumph over Bradford on Sunday.
It proved an afternoon when many encouraging facets of the Reds’ play so far this term came together during the course of one game, even if the hosts had to shrug off the disappointment of conceding after just 44 seconds before turning the tables on the Bantams.
Positives were plentiful, but Wilson is still demanding more from one or two of his players as Barnsley seek to make a belated impact on the division.
He said: “Personally I think there are one or two players who are still not firing on all cylinders, but they showed lots of glimpses on Sunday of what they can do.
“The one thing about them is that they have not got disappointed this season.
“The daft thing was we were 5-0 down against MK Dons and ended up getting three late goals. We went 2-0 down against Oldham in midweek and then came back. Some may have questioned their commitment, but there’s nothing wrong with it.
“We can see things in the team and in parts of the game this season when we had played really well. But to consistently do it over a period of months, we will find it difficult as we are a new team and a fairly young team.
“But things like Sunday will add to our confidence. The rewards they got through hard work, endeavour and keeping their discipline was fantastic for the development side of some of the players.
“If we play like that every week, I’d be more than satisfied.”
One of a number in red to show energy and enterprise was loan winger Ryan Williams, who Wilson revealed was taken off shortly before the end after his hamstring tightened up.
He added: “Ryan has not played any games at this level and that is the difference.
“Things like that are going to happen where he runs out of steam to a certain degree. But he put in a great shift and he has warmed to the ethics of what we are asking him to do already, as the rest of the lads are.
“But he will be fit and ready by the weekend.”
