Striker McCammon in to add height for Bradford City

PETER TAYLOR has made his second signing since beginning his reign as Bradford City manager by bringing striker Mark McCammon in on loan from Gillingham.

The 31-year-old has moved to Valley Parade on an initial month-long deal and goes straight into the squad for tomorrow's home game against Darlington.

And on Friday, Bradford also added Gavin Grant to their squad, the Wycombe Wanderers striker signing on a free transfer.

At 6ft 1in, McCammon will bring aerial threat and presence to the Bantams side as Taylor looks to build on the encouraging midweek win at League Two leaders Rochdale.

The new City manager, who last week captured defender Robbie Threlfall on loan from Liverpool, said: "I have looked at the squad and feel Mark can come in and do us a job.

"Mark is a big threat and I think he can help James (Hanson).

"He has done well but maybe needs a breather from time to time."

McCammon returns to Yorkshire where he enjoyed two successful years with Doncaster Rovers.

Joining in the summer of 2006, he made 54 appearances for Rovers with his final outing being as a second-half substitute at Wembley as Sean O'Driscoll's side deservedly clinched promotion by beating Leeds United 1-0 in the League One play-off final.

McCammon left the Keepmoat Stadium a few weeks later to sign for Gillingham where he has made 56 appearances.

Only two of those, however, have come since the turn of the year as the Kent club look to win their fight to remain in the third tier.
