Swansea 3 Barnsley 1: Tykes must show desire - Robins

Barnsley manager Mark Robins urged his players to show them more of their ability during the final few weeks of the season.

After watching his side lose to play-off contenders Swansea, he said there was no excuses for them to ease through until the end of the season.

He is now expecting a big improvement ahead of a new campaign next August.

"I enjoyed watching Swansea because they had the ball most of the time," he said. "There is no doubt about it, just to survive in this division is not enough for me or for the club and the players have not given value for money over these last few games.

"I am relieved we have points in the bag because we haven't performed lately, in fact we have been garbage.

"The high point of the season was when we reached ninth position but the players only seemed comfortable battling away in the lower reaches and this mentality must change.

"Everyone has to push themselves that much harder over the final two games of the season as I want to see some desire."

First-half goals from Ashley Williams and Shefki Kuqi set Swansea on their way and although Darren Moore pulled one back for Barnsley before half-time, Darren Pratley restored Swansea's two-goal advantage midway through the second period.

The scoreline could have been much worse for the Tykes who enjoyed a huge let-off when Kuqi missed a clear-cut chance.
