The East Yorkshire club sit second in the table having won seven of their opening nine fixtures, the most recent of ther victories comaing at Bristol Rovers in midweek following on from the disappointment of last Saturday’s home defeat to Peterborough.

“We don’t go into games taking a point, we go to win every game,” McCann said.

“If we can’t win, we make sure we don’t lose but we’ll go there [Swindon] positive and confident because the boys are in a good place.

“We’ll go there and see if we can take the three points, but we know it’s going to be difficult.

“Just to win the game would be nice for us, to pick up six points after a disappointing result against Peterborough would be an excellent response.”

That City managed to bounce straight back from the disappointment of losing at home to the Posh last weekend owed much to the contribution of three players who came off the bench on the hour-mark.

With his team trailing Rovers 1-0, McCann introduced Keane Lewis-Potter, Regan Slater and Tom Eaves, all of whom found the back of the home net before the night was out.

And, the Tigers chief said that the impact of those players coming into the game and sparking such an impressive turnaround fills him with confidence.

“It was brilliant from the boys who came on, they did well, they grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck,” added McCann.

“It does fill me with confidence that we have the players to bring on when we need to change something.

“It’s one thing that we always stress to the substitutes, come on and make an impact, that’s what we want.

“We are really pleased with the strength-in-depth in the group.”
