WHEN it comes to deciding upon the latest YP Team of the Weekend, there were a plethora of candidates - with some sadly not even making the cut.

Outstanding displays arrived from the likes of Hull City, Barnsley and Huddersfield Town, with plenty of players jostling for position.

Here then, is our chosen line-up from the weekend that was ...

1: Danny Ward (Huddersfield Town)

Another solid showing for Town, crowned by a penalty block. Quickly becoming part of the furniture.

2: Tony McMahon (Bradford City)

Needed no second invitation to bomb forward and set up the winner for City at Peterborough. A consistent force.

3: Chris Lowe (Huddersfield Town)

Outstanding on the left-hand side of the defence for Town, with several others being not far behind.

4: Alfie Mawson (Barnsley)

The ongoing transfer rumours clearly haven’t perturbed the young defender. Imposing defensive performance against a divisional big-hitter and a key goal, to boot.

5: Tom Lees (Sheffield Wednesday)

Fresh from signing a new deal in the wake of considerable rival interest, the defender produced an unflappable, immaculate performance at Carrow Road. Classy

6: Josh Cullen (Bradford City)

At the heart of most things good on his second debut for City at Peterborough. A prodigious talent in the making, for sure.

7: Ryan Kent (Barnsley)

Looked a bag of tricks and oozed threat and menace and also gilded an outstanding display in the second half with a goal - his effort struck the post.

8: Sam Clucas (Hull City)

Immense in an unaccustomed role as a holding midfielder and worthy of considerable plaudits, especially as he was making his debut in the top-flight.

9: Adama Diomande (Hull City)

On the fringes for large parts of last term, Diomande stepped up to the plate and hassled and harried the Foxes backline. Netted with an acrobatic effort, with Abel Hernandez in close proximity.

10: Aaron Mooy (Huddersfield Town)

Different class for the second weekend running in a marvellous display from Town. Looks a real player for Huddersfield already.

11: Robert Snodgrass (Hull City)

Classy contribution crowned by a fine winning goal.

Manager: Mike Phelan

Done it tough along with everyone else at Hull. But managed to adopt a successful siege mentality with he, his staff and players closing ranks and managing to manufacture a remarkable result against the champions.
