On their way to Wembley: Pigeon Detectives in quest for FA soccer glory

LEEDS indie rock music band The Pigeon Detectives will this weekend launch their quest to be this season’s official FA Cup anthem.

Rapper Lethal Bizzle, who is a cousin and business partner of Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong, is also in the running as the Football Association stages a competition between six acts to find the anthem.

Each will perform at grounds during the FA Cup with a vote taking place after the semi-finals.

The search begins at Upton Park on Saturday when Lethal Bizzle performs his track with Vato Gonzalez & Donae’o - titled ‘Not a Saint’ - ahead of the match between West Ham and Manchester United.

Other shortlisted acts include Dagenham rapper Devlin.

Lethal Bizzle said: “I’ve watched the FA Cup since I was a boy and always dreamed of playing in it. It’s a special competition and I’m made up to be a part of it, and hopefully I can become part of its history by producing the official FA Cup anthem. To have my music open the FA Cup final really would be a dream come true.”
