Thursday transfer round-up: Rotherham United target Bradshaw slaps in request | Boro track Valencia duo | Bradford bring in Timothee Dieng

ROTHERHAM UNITED and Barnsley target Tom Bradshaw has cleared the path for a move to the Championship after submitting a transfer request.

The in-demand Walsall forward is the subject of a club-record bid of around £550,000 with add-ons from the Millers, with the Reds also ready to make a second offer after being knocked back first time around.

But the Millers appear to be favourites in the quest to sign the 23-year-old.

In a bid to push through a move, Bradshaw, who hit 20 goals for the Saddlers last term, tabled a transfer request which has been ‘reluctantly’ accepted by the West Midlands outfit.

Millwall striker Lee Gregory is also on the Millers’ radar, despite the club seeing a £1.2m bid rejected by the Lions.

Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday winger Ross Wallace says he wants to sample some more special moments at the club after signing a new contract to stay on at Hillsborough until 2018.

Wallace, 31, who made 49 appearances for the Owls last season, scoring six goals, said: “I am delighted. I had a fantastic year last year and I am delighted to get an extension.

“We had a great season last season apart from the disappointment right at the end.

“I had some special moments for myself personally but overall the way the team played all season, I loved every minute of it with a great bunch of players and working under Carlos (Carvalhal) and the staff. Hopefully we can have the same kind of success.”

Middlesbrough are close to sealing a deal to bring in the Valencia duo of striker Alvaro Negredo and former Liverpool defender Antonio Barragan.

Boro officials are in Spain speaking with Valencia regarding ex-Manchester City forward Negredo, wanted on a season-long loan, and Barragan, who will join permanently.

Bradford City have completed the signing of former Oldham Athletic utility man Timothee Dieng after a successful trial.

The Frenchman, 24, has signed a two-year deal after making 68 appearances in two years with the Latics.

Former Sheffield United goalkeeper Mark Howard has joined Phil Parkinson’s Bolton Wanderers, signing a two-year contract with the Trotters.
