Tickets selling well for Town’s big day

Huddersfield Town are set to take a bumper following over the Pennines for this weekend’s League One play-off final after selling 28,000 tickets by close of business yesterday.

The Terriers were given an allocation of 35,596 for Sunday’s showdown with Peterborough United at Old Trafford.

Town are bidding to return to the second tier of English football for the first time in a decade after edging past Bournemouth.

Such a prospect has really caught the imagination of supporters, who snapped up around 6,000 yesterday on the first day of general sale.

As a result certain areas of Huddersfield’s designated areas of Old Trafford are close to selling out, namely the Stretford End and seats on the halfway line.

The demand from West Yorkshire means Town fans will hugely outnumber those of opponents Peterborough come Sunday’s 3pm kick-off.
