The Department of Health and Social Care are using the stadium for three days to help test essential workers for covid-19. Walk-up appointments are not available as there are only enough tests for the local essential workers already booked in.

The League One Millers offered its facilities after being contacted by the Football League.

”We feel privileged to be providing a venue for the DoHSC to carry out important testing on essential workers from Rotherham and beyond,” chairman Stewart.told his club's official website.

“We are delighted to be helping to facilitate tests for those people who put themselves at risk every day to provide a number of services that we would struggle to cope without.

“The club has been active in the community in a whole host of different ways since the early stages of the COVID-19 outbreak and we saw this as another opportunity to be able to offer our support during the pandemic.

“On behalf of everyone here at Rotherham United, I would once again like to thank all those people in key worker roles and also the DoHSC, who are working hard in the fight against coronavirus."
