Town hit few bumps in the road but Robins hopes fans are enjoying trip

But, as the 44-year-old begins his second 12 months at the helm of the Terriers, he is in no doubt that the club are making progress.

The Town manager said: “We have made good strides. I think it is very easy to get lost in the moment and everything else gets forgotten.

“February has not been a good month in terms of results. Performances have been probably hampered by a lot of things. But we are trying to go about the job in the right way.

“When you set off on a path, there will be bumps in the road, we know that. This is a tough division, but performances across the year have been good.

“The club has made good strides and a lot of good things are happening.”

The first few months of Robins’s reign were spent fighting relegation, a battle that was only won on the final day of last season.

This time around, however, Town have been in mid-table pretty much all the way through.

Robins added: “It feels more like two and a half years and that was just during the last few weeks of last season. I am enjoying the job though.

“It doesn’t get any easier, but it is fun and a challenge that I am relishing.

“Hopefully the supporters are enjoying the journey with us and we are working hard to try and make it is a good as possible for everyone concerned.”

Town face former manager Lee Clark and his Birmingham City side today. The Blues were comprehensive winners at the John Smith’s Stadium in November, but Robins is backing his side to prevail today at 
St Andrews.

He said: “Everyone is available ahead of what is a great opportunity to pick up three points. St Andrew’s is a good place to play football and there is an added spice as we will be up against a former manager.

“Lee Clark is a good guy and he works his socks off. I am sure his team will be fired up, but we are ready for the challenge.”
