Transfer Gossip (Friday): West Ham close to Snodgrass deal | Boro pursue Rodriguez | Rotherham eye Iceland star

The London club has seen a £10m bid accepted for the former Leeds United winger, 29, who has chosen the Hammers ahead of rival suitors Burnley and Middlesbrough.

Speaking on Thursday night, Tigers head coach Marco Silva said: “I know the (West Ham) deal is close. It’s possible in the next few hours.

“The player hasn’t trained with the team and is not available after the club did this deal with West Ham, and we need to find solutions to strengthen our team.”

Hull are interested a number of players to come in and step into the breach, including Rangers midfielder Josh Windass, though no offer has yet been forthcoming.

Snodgrass could well be a replacement for Dimitri Payet, who is looking increasingly likely to leave the Premier League side this month.

Son of former Tigers hero Dean Windass, Josh was said to be the subject of a £1.5million bid rejected by Rangers yesterday.

However, it has now emerged that no offer has been made and Hull may have to match the player’s £3million release clause to make the transfer.

Middlesbrough head coach Aitor Karanka has warned Leicester City that they will not get want-away midfielder Gaston Ramirez on the cheap.

Karanka confirmed that the 26-year-old Uruguayan has handed in a transfer request, and that the Premier League champions have had a bid for his services rejected.

Meanwhile, Karanka has confirmed his interest in Paris Saint-Germain attacker Jese Rodriguez, with whom he has worked within the Spain youth set-up and Real Madrid.

Boro have also been linked with a surprise move for Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish.

Reports suggest that the Teessiders are eyeing the playmaker as a replacement should they let Ramirez join Leicester.

The 21-year-old is under contract until 2020 at Villa Park and the club would command a significant transfer fee for his services.

Jordan Rhodes remains keen on a move to Villa.

Bradford City have tabled a bid in the region of £250,000 for prolific Carlisle United striker Charlie Wyke.

Speculation is abound that the offer will trigger a release clause in the contract of the frontman, who has notched 17 goals for the Cumbrians this term - granting City permission to speak with the 24-year-old.

Wyke, a former Boro apprentice who had loan spells at Hartleppol and AFC Wimbledon, has been eyed by other League One and Championship clubs, but Bradford are now firmly in the box seat as they seek an immediate replacement for James Hanson.

Rotherham United have been linked with a move for old boy Kari Arnason, currently at Swedish outfit Malmo.

The Icelandic international joined the Millers in 2012, going on to play over 100 games and helping them with back-to-back promotions from League Two to The Championship.

Darren Ferguson has revealed he has had no enquiries for any of his leading Doncaster Rovers players, with the Keepmoat Stadium chief particularly keen to loan out several fringe players to ease the numbers in his squad.

Cedric Evina, Mitchell Lund, Reece Fielding and Lewis Jones are all available for loan.
