Former Middlesbrough man Lee Cattermole could be on his way back to the newly promoted Premier League side, after reports from Sunderland suggest Aitor Karanka has offered £5m to regain the services of the hard-tackling midfielder.

A ‘big offer’ would be needed if Middlesbrough are to have any chance of signing the man with over 180 appearances for the Black Cats according to the Sunderland Echo, as the Teeside team look to add Premier League experience to their squad ahead of their first season back in the top division in seven years.

Sheffield Wednesday are interested in a move for former Sheffield United, Doncaster Rovers and current Birmingham City midfielder David Cotterill, who will reportedly be allowed to leave St Andrews for £1m due to a clause in his contract.

The 28-year-old scored four goals and assisted six for his club last season, earning him a place in the Welsh squad for the European Championships in France; Cotterill’s football rebirth following difficult spells at Swansea and Portsmouth means the Owls will have to hold off potential offers from Reading and Cardiff.

Hull City face competition from QPR as both race to sign Arsenal and England youth player Isaac Hayden after he has reportedly stated his desire to Leave the Emirates in search of first-team football.

Hayden displayed his talent and versatility during his loan spell with the Tigers last season; predominantly, the 21-year-old is a defensive midfielder, but can cover as a make-shift centre-half.

Leeds United player of the year Charlie Taylor has been continuously linked with a move away from the Yorkshire club, with West Bromwich Albion now rumoured to be looking at the young defender.

Predictably, the Midlands club were stable defensively last term under Pulis conceding only 48 goals – the best outside of the top six. However, with the likelihood of Saido Berahino leaving the Baggies this summer, transfer funds could be used to bring in Taylor after chairman Cellino spoke of his doubt of the 22-year-old renewing his contract.

The controversial figure did, however, hint at contract extensions for future prospects Lewis Cook and Kalvin Phillips, with both set to pen deals in the coming weeks.

1860 Munich may lose their skipper this summer as Hudderfield Town are apparently showing interest according to newspapers in Germany.

Christopher Schindler, 26, could become the third German acquisition for head coach David Wagner who has returned to his homeland to recruit centre-back Michael Hefele and left-back Chris Lowe of Dynamo Dresden and 1.FC Kaiserslauten respectively.

Darren Ferguson of Doncaster Rovers has confirmed that he is looking to utilise the loan market to sign a fifth striker in an effort to aid the club’s promotion hopes.

The Scot revealed that he was keen in bringing Crystal Palace’s Keshi Anderson back to the Keepmoat Stadium after the striker scored three goals in seven appearances on his one month loan at the club last season.

A ninth and 10th summer signing for recently relegated York City came in the form of Braintree defender Matt Fry and Joshua Robinson of Irish side Crusaders.

Fry, former West Ham youngster, was pivotal in Braintree’s season as he featured a total of 27 times as they lost out on a play-off final place to promotion success’s Grimsby Town. Robinson on the other hand has assisted in Crusaders’ back-to-back Irish premiership titles since joining from Rangers in 2012.
