Hull City have been linked with a move for Koln striker Anthony Modeste.
According to the Hull Daily Mail, the Tigers and Crystal Palace are considering a summer bid for the French forward, who has scored 11 goals in 24 appearances for the Bundesliga side. This, however, will be dependent on whether or not Hull are promoted to the Premier League.
The 27-year-old made five appearances for Blackburn Rovers while on loan in 2012. Modeste has also scored six times for French Under 21 national side.
Meanwhile, defender Curtis Davies has ended speculation about his immediate future by signing a new two-year-deal that will keep him at the KC Stadium until June, 2018.
Davies, 31, joined the Tigers from Birmingham City three years ago and has played over 100 times for the club and captained the side in their first FA Cup final against Arsenal in 2014.
The defender tweeted: “Glad to finally get my new deal signed. Let’s hope these next two years will be spent in the Premier League. #HCAFC.”
Barnsley’s caretaker coach Paul Heckington has said the club are considering bringing in a sixth loan signing before Thursday’s deadline.
Heckington told the Barnsley Chronicle: “We might be quite light over the Easter weekend which could be a problem. We could be missing a lot of players all at once.”
Callum Connolly and Ashley Fletcher have been called up for England youth teams, while there are also injuries to first-choice full-backs James Bree and Aidy White.
