HUDDERSFIELD Town have already made eight signings this summer but remain in the market for more recruits.
They have been linked with a move for Everton’s former Ajax captain Davy Klaassen, 25, and Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore, who, however, is said to be close to joining Wolves.
Werder Bremen are also interested in the Dutch midfield player Klaassen, who failed to make an impact at Goodison following a £24m from Holland.
Everton want around £23m for a player whose contract expires in 2022.
Town have also joined the race to capture 22-year-old Traore, who has an £18m release clause in his contract and who has also been eyed by Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and favourites for his signature Wolves.
Hull City remain interested in Barnsley striker Tom Bradshaw but have cooled their interest in Manchester City’s Brandon Barker.
Leeds United are close to completing a £3m deal with Wolves for Scotland wing-back Barry Douglas, who is expected to undergo a medical at Elland Road today.
Leeds are also expected to launch a bid for Middlesbrough striker Patrick Bamford after their move for Derby County’s Matej Vydra broke down.
Bradford City and Sunderland are both keen to take Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp on loan, but the Blades would need to strengthen up front before any such move would be considered.
Bolton will target Ipswich striker Joe Garner if top target Bradford City’s Charlie Wyke is ruled out for a lengthy spell by an unspecified injury.
Doncaster Rovers are aiming to strengthen their forward line before the start of the season.
