Transfer gossip (Tuesday, June 27): Millers and Reds must up their bids; Owls eye '˜Scottish Messi'; Tigers and Boro battle for Man Utd striker

The Saddlers frontman is set for pastures new this summer with a clutch of clubs, including the Millers’ South Yorkshire neighbours Barnsley, also in the market for his services.

Barnsley lodged a bid for the 23-year-old earlier this month which rose to around £400,000 including add-ons and this was rebuffed by Walsall, though the Oakwell outfit are being tipped to come back with a renewed offer.

Meanwhile, the bid from the Millers is viewed as hugely below Walsall’s valuation for Bradshaw, who joined from Shrewsbury Town for an undisclosed fee two years ago.

The Shrews have a 20 per cent sell-on clause on Bradshaw, who has hit 20 goals in each of his past two seasons with the Saddlers, who value their star man at £1m or a minimum of around £750,000 plus sell-on clauses.

SPL giants Rangers, along with Nottingham Forest and Reading, have also been linked with Wales international Bradshaw.

Sheffield Wednesday are weighing up a loan move for Sporting Lisbon youngster Ryan Gauld - dubbed as the ‘Scottish Messi’.

Winger Gauld, 20, emerged on the scene at Dundee United and was soon linked with a host of Europe’s top sides, including Manchester United, Real Madrid and Roma before moving to Lisbon.

The Owls have also been linked with Middlesbrough pair Adam Forshaw and Adam Reach.

Hull City and Middlesbrough are among several clubs reportedly interested in Manchester United’s England Under-21 international striker James Wilson.

The 20-year-old, who spent the bulk of 2015-16 on loan at Brighton, is expected to be sent out on loan again next term and is also wanted by Championship rivals and neighbours Aston Villa and Birmingham, along with Burnley.

Meanwhile, Boro are looking to bolster their goalkeeping options, with Gent stopper Matz Sels and Spanish legend Victor Valdes on head coach Aitor Karanka’s radar.

Sels, 24, was voted best goalkeeper in Belgium for 2015 and narrowly missed out on Marc Wilmots’s Euro 2016 squad.

He still has three years remaining on his current deal and Karanka has identified former Manchester United outcast Valdes as an alternative option should Gent refuse to sell.

Valdes, 34, is a free agent after being released from Old Trafford and has indicated that he would like to remain in the Premier League.

A clutch of clubs, including Bournemouth, Burnley, Rangers, Derby and Birmingham are keen on released Hull forward Sone Aluko.

The striker has confirmed he has spoken to clubs in the Premier League, Championship and abroad.
