Transfer gossip, Wednesday: Tigers look to Scotland; Johnson link | Boro bid for Flint | Town eye Belgian

HULL CITY are set to make a renewed move to sign Kilmarnock and Northern Ireland winger Jordan Jones in their quest to make a summer transfer breakthrough.

The 23-year-old has become a hot property in the last 12 months, helping Killie to a fifth-placed finish in the SPL.

His form has alerted a number of rival clubs including Derby County, Sunderland, Norwich and Rangers, with Hull ready to make an opening offer of £600,000 for Jones, who was linked with a move in January.

Johnson made a £3million switch from Oxford United to the Riverside last August but could move on this summer.

Middlesbrough are set to make a £5m bid for Bristol City star defender Aden Flint.

Boro chief Tony Pulis is a big fan of the 6ft 6in goal-scoring centre-back, 28, who scored nine goals last season as Lee Johnson’s side finished 11th in the Championship and reached the EFL semi-finals.

The Robins are in a strong position with the player signing a new deal until 2021 last December and are unlikely to be tempted to be an offer in the region of £5m.

The Terriers are seeking to avoid another close call in the fight to survive relegation next season and the Belgium international is said to be part of the battle plan.

Limbombe, 23, helped the club in win the Belgian Pro League and has represented his country at every level, making his senior debut against Saudi Arabia in March.

An initial offer of £7m has reportedly been turned down.

Another rumoured target, Wolves winger Ivan Cavaleiro, has stated his desire to stay at Molineux, posting a picture of himself in action for Wolves and saying: “Looking forward to start the season with my club.”

It is understood that Town made a tentative inquiry about Cavaleiro’s availability, but were given no encouragement.
